There's all kinds of things I should be doing to get the house cleaned and organized, and in turn my life feels better. I definitely notice a difference in me when I'm taking good care of my environment. Anyways, I have a few unfinished projects, and one that I'm working on completing right now, so I decided to sign up for a new project. I'm participating in the quilt-along at Old Red Barn Company. It's a 6 week project if you stay on track. Week 1 was gathering the supplies, including fabric. Week 2 is cutting the fabric into strips; we are nearing the end of week 2. I purchased my material when we were in Henderson this past weekend and washed and ironed it this evening. My goal is to clean off the kitchen table (it's overrun with mail and magazines) so I can cut the fabric tomorrow and not fall behind on the schedule, since next week we start sewing.
I was considering keeping this project a secret from Brien until I bought the fabric. I could just imagine his eyeballs roll back in his head at the mention of another crafty thing entering the house. Fortunately for both of us, I confessed my intentions and had him come to the store with me. He was surprisingly supportive. It can be really hard to pick out 13 fabrics. I didn't want it to be super matchy-matchy, so it was extra hard. We kept trading fabrics in and out of the mix. We were at the store for almost 2 hours, we spent about 1 hour 15 min. picking the fabrics. I was grateful for his help, because he's more artistic than me and has a good eye for how things can go together. It would have taken me twice as long if I had been alone.
On another note, I've downloaded our pictures from our camping trip and selected which ones to post. I'll try to tell you about our Cathedral Gorge trip this weekend.

I love your fabrics you picked! I hope you show the finished quilt!
The fabrics look nice. Jon helps me with colors also. I pick obvious matches and he can pick ones that are less noticeable.
I too have up-loaded my pictures, but I've yet to edit them. We also took over 200! Though I don't know how many are the ones the girls took. I think we have 30 of Jack or his spots alone from Eden.
Now you HAVE to finish, because we all want to see what the finished quilt looks like. Have fun and good luck.
Love the fabrics! Quilts have become so cute and modern now.
Good luck on the giveaway!
Great idea! I haven't made a quilt since high school. It makes me want to start something crafty too. Good luck!
