Back on April 18 it was White Pine appreciation day at the train. White Pine residents were able to ride for free. Brien went over around 9:30am to pick up our tickets for the 1:00pm ride. It was a good thing that he did, because some friends showed up at noon and the tickets were all gone.
We ran into some friends. Bryce is 5.5 and Mckayla is 2.5. Z loves them and they also enjoy playing with her. She had to stand on the rail and try to climb into the bushes because the older kids were doing it.
The repairs on the steam engine were finished, so we finally got to see it in action.
We all sat in the outside car and had some bits of coal debris fall on us from the smoke stack.

Our friends: Bryce, Mckayla and Lori.

We thought it looked cool to see the steam release along with the smoke stack.
~~~~~~~~~~~~There was some kind of promotional thing being filmed by the railroad. This couple was sloshed, but they were dressed in costumes and had a few people with video cameras following them around. The rumor on the train was that the couple was getting married, but they showed up in the outdoor car and said they just got engaged.
The train stopped and the skit continued outdoors. There were a few cowboys on horseback and our train passenger (pictured above) was able to help save a man from being hung.
The train ride was fun, but stopping for the skit took extra time. It was a long afternoon, but we were happy we went, even though poor Zarina wasn't feeling well.
How fun! Oh my parents were wonderful in always taking us to ride on trains when John was little. I think it is a wonderful thing to do with your kids. Have you been on the Boulder City Train. It's pretty fun. You are great parents!
