Pity Party, you might call it whining

Just thought I would share my morning so far.

Background information:
I'm not feeling well, it seems to be a cold. I'm congested and fortunately my sore throat is fading after three days. I was in bed by 10:30pm lat night, but I was a little restless and was wide awake from 3-4am. Zarina is also congested, poor thing, but on the upside, she's getting practice in blowing her nose.

Zarina woke up at 7am, which is an hour earlier than her earliest wakeup last week. After a leisurely bottle of milk we sat down for a breakfast of fruit, leftover french toast, and we shared a fried egg. I swept the floors in anticipation of exercising. I heard some heavy breathing, which indicated that someone might me in need of a diaper change. I pulled her across my lap to check the diaper, and noticed something strange. The diaper felt extremely lopsided, as in a whole cheek felt like it was hanging out. I put her under my arm, with the hiney away from my clothes and hurried to the changing table. I unzipped her pajamas with a feeling of dread. The first thing I notice is that the diaper is not secured on one side, and about to fall apart on the other side. She had done her business, and it was squishing out the side of the diaper, and was slightly smeared. Lucky for me it was pretty solid, or there would have been a super mess. This was just a slight mess.

It had been a few days since her last bath, so we headed to the tub. As I was filling the tub Zarina was excited bouncing up and down next to me and trying to push past me to get into the tub. I sat her in the water, discouraged her from drinking the soapy water, and started scrubbing her down. It was then that I noticed a little puddle of water by the tub. I knew that it was a pee puddle. I stopped her from drinking the bath water and went to the kitchen and grabbed a paper towel and disinfecting wipe (my house is tiny, so I was close enough to the bathroom that I could hear Zarina playing, it was safe to leave her). As I was cleaning up the puddle I noticed that my slipper was also damp, so really I could say she peed on my foot. This is different from the dog, who hasn't peed on me, but once he pooped on the bed during the night. Jack wasn't sleeping on the bed, so I know he purposely got on the bed and did that because he hated me for moving in with him and Brien.

So that was the first few hours of my morning, smeared poopy diaper and getting peed on. Zarina has definitely come out ahead, she's clean and dressed for the day. I on the other hand, did not shower yesterday, so I have quite a bit of work before we head to the grocery store.

Afternoon update: When Zarina got up from her nap, her diaper dam had leaked, so I had to change her clothes, which is sad because it was a cute outfit and she did not want to have her clothes removed.

Really, this is all just normal.
