I've grown accustomed to the cold

My sister, Lacey, mentioned cold weather, in Las Vegas mind you, and I felt inspired. Even without checking weather.com I have a sneakin' suspicion that the lows in Las Vegas are less cold than the highs in Ely. Following is a modification of my comment on her blog.

You say it's freezing there? Could you please define this for me? I only ask because the mucus on my nose hairs stiffens as I walk from my car into the school in my 8 degree weather (at 7:30am, after it's warmed up a bit) with a slight breeze and 6-8 inches of snow on the ground. Heck, I took my dog for a walk this evening, right after sunset, and I had to come home earlier than expected because Jack was walking funny due to his paws that were too cold.

One of the teachers said today that March is when they really get the snow in Ely. I want it to get warm enough to melt the snow we already have before we get more. I want warmth.

I just want to say it was freezing in Las Vegas. We were in the 20's. Stories about frozen pipes and how to deal with them were all the rage during our freezing temperatures.

ditto Lacey. Also- you could always move back- that would solve your problem (it wouldn't be AS cold for AS long?)

Glad to see you blogging again!
