This past Friday I went to work and then came home to pack for our Utah weekend. Brien also went to work for a few hours, then he was present for the home inspection at our new house, then he came home and did all the laundry and cleaned the house so it would be clean when we returned home on Monday night. He's fabulous!
We went to UT specifically to see Cori and Pete and Kyla who were visiting from Florida. Saturday the girls spent the afternoon together and got a little crafty. I made a fun something that I can't go into detail about because it will be a Christmas gift for my parents or a birthday gift for my Dad. Really it just depends on how long I want to hold onto it. I just want to say that my present turned out nice and I am impressed with my budding talents. I have decided that I can learn a certain amount of creativity, I just need to keep practicing.
Brien and I were also able to go shopping for appliances. The new house needs a washer and dryer. We decided to purchase a Frigidaire Affinity from RC Willey (we were able to put the purchase on the parents' account, 90 days no interest, no payments, yipee!) . We needed stackable machines, preferred a side loading washer, and decided (hoped) that this would be a good set to buy.
We also got some information for our remodeling project. We have decided to refinish the hardwood floors before we move in, so that's one project. The new house also has textured walls, and Brien dislikes textured walls, so we decided to redo the drywall in the front room before we move in as well. Some family members are coming to help us, and Dennis assures us that it won't take too long, and he has experience in this kind of stuff, so I believe him. As Brien and I drove home we discussed paint colors. It's fun for some TLC junkies to finally get to redo their own place.
The realtor checked in with me today and everything seems to be running smoothly, so hopefully, we won't have any trouble closing by the 30th.
