We signed our offer Monday night, they countered around noon today, Tuesday, and after work Brien was able to meet me at the realtor so we could sign our sales agreement and she can fax it to the lender so it's waiting for him when he arrives at 9am central time. It's kind off funny, the counter was only $1,500 more than our offer, it actually made us wish we had offered less but, perhaps we would have still arrived at the same price.
We are actually purchasing the house from our ex-landlord, he just closed off these two duplexes about 10 days ago. It made us wonder if maybe he was a little nicer because he knows us. Anyways, we feel really good about the house, so if the Spirit tells you to live somewhere we decided we needed to listen to it.
We are happy that we will be staying in our ward (church congregation) boundaries, I'm not ready to leave my calling and Brien just got put in as the Young Men's 1st counselor, so we have the same age group.
Our homework for tonight was to gather the financial paperwork for Brien to fax to the lender tomorrow morning (already to go) and then tomorrow we need to call a home inspector who lives 3 hours away in Elko. We hope to close by Oct. 30th and that means that we need to stay on the ball so we can pressure the lender and title company to move quickly.
I guess we will need to take some exterior pictures to post but, as I said in the last blog posting, the outside isn't much to look at. We will have all winter to plan and save for a landscaping project in the spring. Maybe we will have to "accidently" have different people show up on the same weekend so we can use them for physical labor. Come to think of it, I think my Lilah (age 3) would love to pull weeds with Brien's Spencer (almost? age 3).

How many bedrooms and how big is the house? Lilah likes to pull weeds...she also likes to pick flowers...but apparently we don't have to worry about that.
