Working for Valentines Day

Post by Brien.
A friend expressed her concern about those that like and do not like Valentines Day. I left a message telling her of what I did for my Valentines gift. Andrea wanted me to post something so, Why not post the Comment left on someone else's blog.

My Valentines Day started with me shoveling the drive way.
I then left and picked up a bouquet of pink, purple, and white flowers.
I returned home to eat toast with a fried egg in a heart shape that Andrea made for me and Zarina.
The rest of the day consisted of preparing Tyler Florence's Ultimate Pork Chops and Spiced Applesauce. Along with preparing dinner I churned bittersweet chocolate ice cream and placed it in heart shaped molds for dessert. (Zarina and I made the ice cream base on Tuesday while Andrea was at Yoga.) I also made strawberry and raspberry sauce to top the ice cream. Between the food preparation I washed 2 loads of clothing, took out the trash, loaded the dishwasher twice and emptied it twice, swept the floor did my share of watching Z and when Andrea went to the store I cooked everything, made a salad with homemade vinaigrette (a recipe I learned while in France) and fed Z. So, when Andrea came home dinner was waiting for her.
OH, I also changed into a button up shirt to look presentable. As presentable as one can in slippers.
This has become a "can you out do me for Valentines Day post" but it really is a "If you put an effort into your Valentines Day gift, you may be rewarded post". I was.

Some people do not enjoy Valentines Day. I do.

Brien, I LOVED your comment...thanks for posting. It's refreshing to hear married people who are actually willing to admit they love their spouses and children. HooRay!
