To encourage Zarina to walk we have been holding her hand and walking her around the house. For instance instead of carrying her into her room to change her diaper I've made her walk with me lately. She was very resistant to putting her feet on the floor for a while, so we were excited by this progress. This evening after dinner, all by herself, she stood up and took a few steps around the living room. We were so happy that we made up lava cakes (from a mix) for a celebratory dessert. Hopefully she will get to show off her skills when we visit family in a few weeks.
After dessert Zarina was sitting by me on the couch. I asked her if she wanted to brush her teeth and she climbed off the couch and crawled to the bathroom. I found out that she had done this for Brien the other day. It's nice to see how well she understands us. When she takes the laundry out of the basket she understands when I tell her, "Put that back in the basket right now." Her new "responsibility" is to hand me the folded clothes so I can put them in the drawers.
About me:
Brien came home "early" (read on-time) from work so I could go to a community (free, not a certified instructor) yoga class. I last went to this class while I was pregnant, then had to stop because of a scheduling conflict, so it's been a while. I have some yoga DVD's that are okay, but it's so much nicer for me to practice in a group.

She's getting too big.
I think kids understand so much at young ages, but they're little so we don't always think they can understand since they can't communicate the way we do.
Yay for yoga, though I haven't been due to being sick. I feel good today so maybe I'll get up for tomorrow's class.
I am one proud grandma!!!
way to go Zarina! we love you
Gram and Gramp Park
Yeah!
That is wonderful!
Big step for a little girl!
Way to go Zarina! She is so dang cute. I'm impressed you went to yoga. People keep telling me I need to go, but I have yet to drag myself there. I think I like my uncoordinated self exercising where people can't laugh at me!
I can't wait to chase after her. She's getting too big!!
