~~~~~~~~~~~~
A few weeks ago we took some pictures of Zarina in her blessing dress. My mom made the dress for her and we still need to give her a picture of the finished product with the baby modeling it.~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I've been domestic lately. I fixed the tabs on the bedroom curtains so they would hang better. This is my before and after photo. I haven't hemmed them yet, perhaps I'll get to that later this summer. I'm worried that they'll turn out crooked, that's why I'm procrastinating the final step in the project.
~~~~~~~~~~~~Back on June 1st we were outside enjoying the evening weather. Brien was playing with Jack and Jack decided to jump over Zarina who was lying on the ground. He performed a low sporty jump, and didn't fully clear the baby. She sustained two small scratches under her eye. It bled a bit and we used hydrogen peroxide to clean it (that didn't go over well). Needless to say the dog got in trouble for his behavior. I took this picture the day after the incident and it was already healing quite nicely. The markings on her forehead are really pronounced in this photo.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~The reason we purchased a bumper for her crib. The worst is when she jams her head up in the corner.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Chilling at the park with her cousin Lilah. Zarina had been wearing her sunglasses, so the eyes are a little funny. Notice her cheeks are extra rosy. This was her first experience with temperatures over 95. (Actually her hottest day up until now was probably 85.)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We had a last minute family dinner on Sunday and made a birthday cake for Carolyn (carrot cake with cream cheese frosting). We decided the second cake could be an early birthday cake for Lilah. I loved that this picture showed all the smoke from their candles.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Zarina was happy to visit her grandma and grandpa Harvey. (They didn't want her to leave.)
Those girls are so cute. I like the one on the right.
I wish I could have scene her a little more, she's so much fun.
Also:
Hemming isn't that bad. I think only one panel out of the 8 I've made is crooked, and only if you really stare at it is it noticeable.
Just look to see if you notice any crookedness in the hem with it being cut and hanging and if you do try to correct it or take note and fix that area.
For my drapes with this fabric I followed the texture and they turned out straight.
Such a cute lil' lady! I'm glad you posted some pics. of her. Also, good job on the curtains. Those are really cute. That's really cool that your mom made that blessing dress, that's really beautiful!
