One week today and counting...

I just thought I would post a few quick pictures of the baby. Zarina Marie was born on 10/15/07 at 20:22. Brien has decided that 2 or 5 will be her lucky number. Lacey had posted some of the first baby pictures on her blog, so check them out because I won't repeat them here. (She cropped and zoomed and I don't have time to do that right now, so her version is cuter anyways.) Hollie put some other photos on her blog to announce Zarina's arrival.

This first picture is just to show how awesome Brien is. He gave me this necklace of cobalt blue pearls as my new mom gift right after Zarina was delivered. The feeling behind the necklace is that I will be able to pass it on to her someday, likely when she becomes a mom. Doesn't that just make this one of the coolest presents ever? Brien is so thoughtful and sweet. I am so lucky to have him!

Baby Z weighed in at 7lbs. 9oz. and 19.5 inches long. She lost about 4-5 oz. in the hospital, and it seemed to have melted away from her thighs. Brien thought this bum shot was cute. I like that is shows a little of her chubbiness (can we say ow!) and you can see her hair. This was right after the nurse washed her down.

This was Brien and Zarina waiting for me in the recovery room shortly after the birth. I was down the hall wondering where the nurse was. I now know she was taking a few pictures of Brien and the baby. Brien was great during the delivery. I was very proud of him!

Just a close up from Wed., the 17th, the day we brought her home. Notice that her dad is already grooming her to be a future Aggie.

She's doing good. Her cheeks are getting chubbier and her 2nd chin is getting bigger. Zarina was a little jaundiced, so the medical people brought over a special light for her to sleep with. We now have a blue-green glow worm in our bedroom. She is looking much better. Some friends came by this evening and noticed she looked very good. We were able to tell them that she has looked this good from day one. No cone head. We know this condition has plagued others in our families but our baby was perfect from the beginning. So when others say they have an alien they may be true. We have had no problems with such rumors.

Brien is so cute with Zarina and I think it's funny that he was keeping your nurse from you.

Congratulations! She is so cute. We're most likely going in for a c-section later on this week, so hopefully soon I'll have some cute baby pictures also.
