Health update

Since Kara mentions her lab results I thought I might mention mine. So the nurse told me today that my glucose came back in high in the normal range, so I need to watch my sugar and simple carbs. I don't really eat simple carbs, so I'm thinking it's more my sugar intake. Ironically, I had read that pregnant women should avoid sugar substitutes. For the glucose test you drink the glucola and 1 hour later they take your blood. I ate my lunch (hot dogs on whole wheat buns) 2 hours before I drank the glucola so it wouldn't interfer as much. I was supposed to remain fairly inactive during the 1 hour time period, but I forgot, and instead I was on my feet the whole time getting ready to leave. (I had just taken a shower.) This makes me wonder if I could have affected my results. It would make sense to me that if I hadn't been moving around the glucose level would have been higher due to the inactivity, but I don't really know.

I have been experiencing numbness in my hands, especially my right hand and forearm. They tested my thyroid and it came back a little strange, so I get to go on some medication for that. Ugh. If it helps with the numbness I will be very happy. Typing isn't so bad, but it's awful to write things out by hand (which means no journal writing), cross-stitching is difficult and I can't crochet either. Really it's bothersome to talk on the phone or even read a book. It makes for a boring day.
