So we (I) took the pregnancy test on Feb. 18th, the Sunday before leaving for Disneyland. Prior to us becoming pregnant we had talked to some friends whose doctor told them that very early on it's okay to go on the rides at amusement parks because the baby is so small that it can't be affected. So although we knew I was pregnant we went on some of the rides that said "no expectant mothers." (Space Mountain was fun, I had never been on it before.)
I'm now in my 15th week and due on Oct. 20th. If the baby comes on time I will be 30 when I have my first child! It makes me feel old. We had our first ultrasound about 2 weeks ago and the baby looks great. I feel funny announcing my pregnancy, because if you dismiss the weight gain I don't feel very different. There was no morning sickness, I just felt a tinge of motion sickness (and that's unusual for me) when we have been on longer road trips. In the last couple of weeks I have started to feel slightly nauseous at the thought of certain foods or while eating, but I haven't come close to throwing up. For instance this morning Brien made an omelet, and while it looked great as he cooked it, I sat down with it and thought, "I can't eat this." I ate it anyways and washed it down with a desirable-looking glass of chocolate milk. There was nothing wrong with it, but lately the only food that consistently appeals to me is chocolate milk and cereal (we mainly have high fiber cereal, so it's pretty good for you). I actually had cereal for dinner last night. Brien was going to make dinner, but was caught up running an errand and I had a meeting to go to; so I ate a tasty bowl of Quaker Oat Squares. When Brien learned what I had for dinner he reprimanded me by saying that, " Our baby cannot be nourished on cereal. You need to eat your vegetables." He then proceeded to give me ideas of what I can make for dinner while he is gone.
Brien has been very supportive, of course, and he is getting more excited. He worries about getting the baby's room done and how we are going to get everything we need. If he thinks too much about a little thing growing inside me he gets freaked out. For those of you who don't know he tries to not touch pregnant women because they have an alien growing inside them.
Thanks for your well-wishes. It's nice to put this out in the open.

congrats Andres, I am glad things are going so well with the pregnancy. We can't wait to meet our little niece or nephew!
We have a crib if you want it. Well if we can find the screws from when Jon took it apart. We did offer it to Nessa, Ray Kemple's girlfriend, and her friend, but I don't know her and am not related to her so I don't mind of she gets mad if you decide to have it instead. Though there are three things about it, even though it would be free.
1. It has a longer than normal mattress so crib sheets don't really fit it and make the mattress curve. So you'd have to one stretch them out, like the one that is on there, or two make your own. Plus the mattress has some tears in the vinyl on one side. I think it's from Lilah's sliding days, when she would use it as a slide.
2. It has some scratches on the wood and holes from when it was a toddler bed, but those can be filled in.
3. I like the swing down mechanism on our crib this is the slide type gate. It slides up and down rather then being on hinges. I don't like the slide cribs.
Let me know if you're interested. If we can't find the screws we can buy some.
You can also use our car seat if you'd like because we aren't planning on having one for a while.
But I do understand if you want new things. This are just solutions if you don't get them for a shower and don't want to spend all the money for them.
(Just let me know about the crib so I can tell Nessa.)
I'm glad you're not to sick. I wasn't too sick with Eden, my stomach was just sensitive to what I ate and drank. Like I had to eat something that would absorb the water I had. So I got sick one day eating a bagel sandwich, the only time with her.
Good luck! I hope we get to see you in June.
Oh, Quaker Oatmeal Squares are my favorite and if you're taking your prenatal vitamins you're not doing too bad. Luckily I loved fruits when I was pregnant.
Don't worry about being 30 when the little tyke comes. That's better than what I'm facing. I'll be lucky if I'm married by 30, which, at the rate I'm going with my dating life, will be a miracle. Really, it will.
