Haircut
I gave Brien a haircut Sunday night. Let's just say he didn't let me take any pictures of it. I thought I did an okay job. I have never had any real instructions on cutting hair. I just tried to pay close attention the last time Holli cut it and I asked some questions. The biggest problem was that he likes his hair long on top, but short on the sides, so I had trouble blending it. I left it long enough that he could go to a barber to have it fixed and he won't look scalped. Brien told me as long as I am not embarassed to go out with him then his hair is fine. He may be hoping that I tell him I can't be seen in public with him. We did agree that I need some hands on instruction from Holli before I have permission to try again. Brien comforted my attempt by telling me that the first 3 times Holli cut his hair he went home and fixed it. (Holli, I hope you already knew that, or that you aren't hurt.) Now he thinks she does a great job, likely because she knows how he wants it to look. I will try to sneak a picture of Brien sans chapeau (hat) to post for your viewing pleasure.

I'm lucky that Jon likes his hair short. I cut the top to finger-width length and blend from what I buzz at a 1/4 inch.
His mom did give me pointers when I was learning and first starting. Of course he was growing his hair our from a complete buzz cut.
You should have gotten pictures just to remember, you gotta laugh at past mistakes.
I on the other hand hate cutting the girls hair. The haircuts are so far in between that you don't get good practice. Lilah wants me to cut her hair lately, she's had a fascination with scissors and has been using small scissors to cut paper. I'm just glad she asks if I will cut her hair and hasn't done it herself even when I say no.
Steve's mom practically held my hand the first couple of times I cut Steve's hair. I've gotten better the last 7ish years. But I still have moments...
BTW- I'm happy for frequent posts!!
