Lots to say, No time to write

I think it's a bit interesting that I frequently check the blogs of my friends and family, yet I have written so little myself lately. There's just a lot going on in my life, and I'm not ready to post it all on my blog. It's difficult to try and share what's happening, when you aren't willing to share what's on the forefront of your thoughts.

March 31st (last Saturday) Brien and I went to the morning session of General Conference. It was a first for me and I really enjoyed myself. I appreciated the speakers and I feel that I got more out of it then I ever do while watching at home. Hopefully, I will be able to go again.

I taught a lesson on Temple Marriage to the Mia Maids (14-15 yr. old young women). It was a bit distracted. Before starting the lesson we talked about Easter and also General Conference. There is an exchange student from Finland, so she shared her Easter traditions with us. I feel that I do a better job teaching my peers in Relief Society and Sunday School than I do teaching the Young Women. I like working with the girls though, so it's not as if I want to give it up.

Brien and I started a tradition of painting woden eggs for Easter. The last few years we have done two eggs a piece. This year he made a few "psychodelic eggs" and I painted a golden egg and the penguin egg.

These are the eggs he hid for me to look for this morning. He also hid my Easter basket, I didn't grow up with this tradition. Easter morning I'm used to going to the table and grabbing a few pieces of candy as I check for eggs before the hunt. While Brien was baking our flower cakelettes I took the opportunity to hide his basket. He appreciated being able to look for it.

While we know the religious meaning behind the pagan celebration of Easter, I do enjoy the traditions that are completely unrelated to Christ' resurrection. I think it's easy to take the Atonement for granted, and also to forget Christ's sacrafice. I'm grateful for a loving, caring husband who does so much for me. And I am also thankful for the knowledge that we are sealed to each other for eternity.

Cute eggs! I thought I'd commented before but I guess I'd only done it in my head. So when are you coming to visit?
