Happy B-day Brien!

Brien had a birthday yesterday. He was out of town, so I gave him a present today along with a cute card that I made. In honor of his birthday I decided to modify an idea from my sister Lacey, so since Brien turned thirty-something, I made of list of thirty-something things I know/love about him. Please note that the number of items does not correspond to his age.

1. He’s funny.

2. He’s very handsome. (My old supervisor at UNLV saw a picture and said, "That's your fiance, he's a stud!"

3. He was a Park Ranger at Bryce Canyon. (He says he was better looking then, it has something to do with lifting weights.)

4. He loves being a soil scientist.

5. He is a great cook and an excellent baker.

6. He likes to bring his wife flowers.

7. He selects the flowers for the bouquets himself. (The floral shop people are getting to know him.)

8. He is always nice to the “older” ladies in the ward. They think he is just wonderful and hope their daughters and granddaughters can find a boy like him to marry.

9. He is patient with his wife.

10. He pays attention to kids when they want someone to talk to.

11. He makes people feel important by listening to them.

12. He served in the Paris, France Mission.

13. He speaks French with a strong American accent that is hard for his wife to understand.

14. He has trouble understanding his wife’s French accent.

15. If he could be any animal he would be a dog.

16. He loves his dog, but he loves his wife more.

17. If his wife secretly got rid of his dog it might be grounds for divorce.

18. He loves the gospel.

19. He loves going to the temple with his wife.

20. He is sensitive to his wife’s feelings.

21. He likes to do things outdoors.

22. He is a Star Trek fan.

23. His favorite superhero is Spiderman, he also likes Batman and the Incredible Hulk.

24. He is very helpful around the house.

25. He decided to date me because he thought, “That Andrea-girl seems pretty nice.”

26. He decided the relationship could go somewhere after we had some bad running jokes while at 6 Flags Magic Mountain.

27. He always wanted a brother while growing up.

28. He walked home from football practice when he was 12 because his parents were late picking him up. When they found him partway home he refused to get in the car and continued to walk, in/with all his gear.

29. Before getting married he didn’t seriously date many people, and kissed even less.

30. He’s intelligent.

31. He likes my sense of humor.

32. He once had the hiccups for something like 3 days.

33. He is creative and able to visualize quite well.

34. He worries about losing his hair.

35. He doesn’t like to get older.

36. He will make a great dad come this October.
