...are good for potty training. I figured I'd give a shot at it this morning for a little bit at least. Zarina shows all the signs of being ready, but it's hard to get her to go on her potty. When I changed her diaper late this morning I asked if she wanted another diaper or underwear. She chose underwear, and refused to sit on the potty right away. Lucky for me she was outside five minutes later when she decided to pee; so there was a little puddle on the back porch rather than my kitchen floor. A fresh pair has now been on for an hour.
I do not like potty training. There are so many different ways to do it, and different things work for different kids. I have a friend who wants to write a book called 1,001 ways to Potty Train Your Child that Didn't Work for Me, but Will Work for You.
We keep testing out the water. I figure if Zarina adamantly refuses to sit on her potty, then no amount of force will get her to do anything while sitting there. She treats the pull-ups like diapers, so I may just be stuck washing lots of underwear when we really make a push for a diaper-less household.
Today I will keep her well-hydrated and see what happens. We have tried bribing with small treats, but that doesn't hold her attention or give her enough motivation. Today, or at least the next few hours, will be low-key. We'll see what happens when she needs to do her business again.

I would wait until she's completely ready. Less stress and a happier you :)
As soon as Allie turned 3, i told her "no more pull-ups", and she never had a problem...Chase on the other hand won't be so easy!! At 3, Allie was well aware of everything and could understand that she didn't have a choice anymore of wearing pull-ups. I didn't even have to train her..just waited till she was old enough and that was that. Good luck on whatever you choose!
Just keep her outside and you won't have to worry at all. ;) Except, I'd keep her away from the garden.
Let me know if you need a copy of the book. I'll autograph it for you. :) Best of luck!!! Come on up when you get sick of the messes.
The worst thing you have to deal with as a parent - POTTY TRAINING. Ugh, sigh, resignation :( I knew Britta would always choose to do her business in diapers as long as there was a choice. When I knew Britta was ready we had a visit from the Diaper Fairy. The Diaper Fairy came one night and took all of Britta's diapers and brought her special Tinkerbell panties. That's what worked for me, but alas, every kid is unique.
I gave Kaia lots of liquids, put the potty in front of the tv, and had her sit on it like it was a chair until the pee just leaked out. Then we had the this-is where-your-pee-goes talk. As for washing underwear, even if they're potty trained you'll still have to wash underwear. Just be thankful when it's pee and not poop. Happy potty training!
