On Saturday, April 3rd, we drove the 7 miles over to Ruth for their Easter Egg "hunt". As we drove out of town we past the the park where Ely was holding their egg hunt. If I remember correctly, the park in Ely had hardly any snow, but it was a smaller area and likely would have had more kids. That's Brien in the orange hat and Zarina next to him. In the "up to 4" area they had pin wheels and little stuffed animals in baggies. As you can see in the background this ballfield and park were covered in eggs. Zarina actually became tired of picking up eggs. In Ruth they ask that you empty the eggs and turn them in for use the next year. We plan on bringing a couple of bags to facilitate our egg opening and sorting process in the future.
Zarina enjoyed the coloring process. It was a little stressful for Dad, but he made it through the dozen eggs. Shortly after this picture was taken she stripped off the shirt because the oversized fit was bugging her.
I know this picture is blurry, but I love Zarina's excitement at getting The Princess and the Frog. I think she watched the movie twice on Sunday and multiple times during the week.
I made my husband and little girl go out in chilly weather to snap a picture of the Easter dress (the following Sunday). I love how this looks on her. With the extra underskirts, it's a more frilly, girly dress then her other dresses, but since it's made from cotton it's more practical and durable. It drives me crazy to see cute dressy-dresses with snags and scars on them.
I love her slight baby-chubbiness. We may be partial, but we think she's beautiful, and has a fun personality too.
ps: For fun Z and I looked at posts from when she was "younger." I have to say Christmas 2008 had some great pictures.
