It's almost 4am and I've been awake for the past 2 hours. We only went to bed at midnight. I think I'll need a nap later today. I've had all kinds of things running through my brain. I'll share some thoughts in the hope that I can potentially fall asleep after things are purged from my mind.
I finally came up with a good idea for a giveaway, well I think it's good, who knows if you'll like it. More on that in the future. And by future I mean a few weeks from now because there is a lot to keep us busy for most of July.
I already thought of a good gift for my dad. This morning I was trying to decide if it should be for his birthday (November) or if I should hold out until Christmas. An hour ago I realized that he turns 60 this year! (I'm sure he wants that publicized.) So he'll get a birthday present from me this year. For those who don't know my family, birthdays aren't a big deal. You feel happy if you get a phone call, a card is special because that requires forethought. Presents are practically non-existent. Things were different when we were younger, so you don't have to feel bad for us. We did celebrate birthdays as children.
I was on my mission when my dad turned 50.
10 years ago I was living in Bucksport, Maine. It was one of the hottest and driest summers in years. It was a beautiful waterfront town. McDonalds in Maine serves lobster rolls as part of their seasonal menu.
The quilt was basted last night. We went up to the church and used the Young Women's room. The quilt will be about 70 x 80. When we laid it out for basting the backing was about 80 x 100, it would have been tough or impossible to fit it in our living room. 3 hours and 15 min. after I started laying it out we picked up the basted quilt and left the church. Z was a trooper, but she was wanting to walk on the quilt almost the entire time. Brien and her were becoming frustrated with each other. Brien brought his laptop so they could watch a movie, and they left for a few minutes to get dinner and buy more safety pins.
Now I'll try to sleep for a few hours before the church breakast. If I can't sleep at least I can watch the Today show. It's on early because of Wimbledon.
