Zarina likes Frosted Mini Wheats, so she will bring the box over and say, "Uuhhh. Da," or something like that.

This morning I was doing the dishes, but Zarina came over and closed the dishwasher. (Usually she tries to sit on the door and attempts to climb inside or pull the silverware out.) She was making fussy noises and wanted to be held, so we are now sitting on the couch watching Care Bears.

Last Sunday she wore her tennis shoes with her dress because she wouldn't let Brien put her dress shoes on.

She's now off the couch and taking my slippers off. Usually she will try to put the slippers back on, or at least get another pair of footwear for you. It's always exciting to see what happens.

Yesterday she tried to squirm out of her stroller because we were leaving the park too soon. She was also making vocal protests.

Sometimes there are two sippy cups on the table. Both have water, but she will pick which one to drink from and get annoyed that the other cup is still there.

She yelled at me last week (at my parents) for putting a few little bites of mashed potatoes on her plate. You would have thought I pinched her. Even when the spuds were removed it was hard to sooth her.

Her favorite word is already "no." Usually it's used in the correct context. Occasionally when you ask if she wants to eat you'll receive a "no," but just now I asked if she wanted to go outside and she jabbered off a response.


She used to enjoy having her teeth brushed, but for about the last month she has insisted on doing it herself. We are lucky if she lets us get a few swipes in.

We knew that she Zarina knew where her belly button was, but we hadn't asked about any other body parts. So we were pleasantly surprised when Grandpa Harvey also asked about her eyes, ears, nose, and toes. She also knows hair, head, teeth, and mouth. We are working on "heart" (right now she scratches her belly) shoulders and knees.
