Zarina's Birthday

On Zarina's birthday she had five teeth, two on top and three on the bottom. She actually pushed a top tooth through on Sunday, the 12th, and the second top tooth appeared on her birthday. In this breakfast picture the tooth hadn't come through yet, but her gums were so stretched and swollen that it looks like to little front teeth. A few days later she popped another tooth through on bottom, that made for three teeth in eight days.

Zarina enjoyed eating her Jack-o-Lantern pancake. It was too big for her to eat by herself, so she dropped large pieces on the ground for Jack to eat. I love the pancake on her forehead.

Brien hooked up the webcam his parents had sent us, so they were able to watch Zarina eat her cupcake. We didn't frost it because we wanted to cut down on the mess.

At first she just poked at it.

After she got a taste of it she started to shove handfuls into her mouth. She also shared some with Jack.

All that was left was a mass of crumbs and a dirty baby.

After getting cleaned up and ready for bed Zarina opened her present (bowling ball and three pins). She did a good job of opening the present by herself. Jack was excited by the sound of ripping paper, and Zarina was nice enough to give him pieces of paper to play with. (I don't know why there's a blue line at the top of this picture.)

The following weekend Grandma and Grandpa Park came to visit. They brought lots of presents (Thank you Cidnee, Heather, and Grandma Unger). This is just one cute picture of her trying on her new clothing items.

It's hard to believe that just over a year ago I was in the hospital birthing this little girl. After she went to bed on her birthday Brien and I were talking and I became a little teary-eyed thinking of how much has changed over the last year. She is developing a wonderful personality. We love to make her laugh.

Zarina is so cute and I can't believe she's one.

It also looks like she's going to be mighty cold unless you have a coat for her. I mean she could be a snow bunny, but I think she should at least have pants. ;)

Lilah is now obsessed with mailing you guys stuff, but I have no stamps and the one we used to mail Z's B-day card came off a pre-stamped envelope to RSVP for a wedding.

You totally need to post more often.

We can't wait to see you in a few weeks.

Happy Birthday Zarina! What a cutie. I'm glad she and Jack enjoyed such a feast that day.

Thanks for letting us in on your b-day celebrating. Fabulous job on the cake, Brien. It was delicious.

We love all the Halloween decorations at your house. McKayla was quite thrilled to drive past today and see some new lights up. Way to be festive!
