Happy July!

I've been spending lots of time on the computer lately. Since we have no A/C in the house it gets a bit warm in the "office" in the afternoon, but I tough it out. The last few days I have taken the baby out for a walk in the evening, because the outside weather is perfect, even though inside temperature hasn't cooled off. Last summer Brien told me we would find the money for a window A/C unit, but it's not that bad, so I don't know if I can justify the expense. I do need to look into screens for the front window, since I know that would help a lot.

It's almost 7pm and I am still in my PJ's. I may change, go for a walk, and then return home to shower. Really though, who knows it that will happen. Brien wants something for dinner.

I started working on-line a few weeks ago. I'm editing secret-shopper reports for 20 hours a week. So far they haven't been busy enough for me to work the full 20 hours for a week, but I think this week will be different. The work seems to pick up for the beginning of the month. While I don't enjoy the work as much as I thought I would, I do enjoy trying to add more structure into my day. I just work when the baby is down for her naps and finish up after she's in bed if I need to. I like the flexibility. I also like it when there's not enough work. Last week I only worked 10 hours, it was great. I was able to feel more productive throughout my day, and I wasn't pressured to put in lots of time.

When I first started I wasn't sure I wanted to work. I had been excited to have the job, then it took almost 4 weeks before I could complete the short training and start working. In that down time I changed my mind about working. As I began to work Brien and I decided that I would just try it out for a month and see if I was able to create a workable, non-stressful schedule. Now that I don't feel too stressed out Brien has helped me create a new goal: work until it pays off a credit card. I like these small goals that he helps me to set. It's not completely necessary for me to work, but it never hurts to have a little extra money. I joked with Brien that since I've been married to him my hourly wage has just gone downhill, but some money is always better than no money.

I hear him making dinner, I better go help.

I think once you get going with the job you will like the fact you have something that you "have" to do. How did you find it? See you in a couple of days:)

I used to do the actual secret shopping when Adam and I first married because he was still in school and any extra money was nice. I used to tease him too though. My secret shopping wages were way less than my teaching salary, and that's kind of hard to beat in the first place. :)

Oh well, like you said, even just a little structure goes a long way in our daily lives.
