I had a grave disappointment a few weeks ago when I realized that our gov't stimulus check was not going to be direct deposited because of how we received our IRS refund. Now I am counting the weeks until that paper check shows up in the mail just so we can mail it to our bank. (Have I mentioned that we don't have a local bank here? Our options were Greater NV Credit Union, First Bank of Ely, or Bank of America - and we aren't overly fond of B of A.)
sidenote: I don't like being in charge of the finances. I feel under-qualified to have such a responsibility.

We are going to Bryce Canyon in the next month. It's exciting for me that I will finally visit and Brien is excited to show me where he lived for a little while. (He was a park ranger there.) It will be our first vacation with our baby and our first vacation since Feb. 2007 when we went to Disneyland. (Vacations are defined as a trip where the sole purpose is not to visit your family.)
I love to travel and visit places. I just wish gas prices would go drop and level off so it wasn't such a painful experience.

We were gonna do a day or overnight camping trip to the Grand Canyon, but gas prices and how big of wimps we were at the Springs Preserve has made Jon wonder if it would be worth it. He wants to take us on a hike to the bottom of the Grand Canyon and then back up or it's not worth it to him. I want to take a nice relaxing hike since I have two young girls.
A few different things:
1) I'm in charge of finances too and feel the same as you do about it, quite overwhelming for me!
2) The baby girl is adorable!
3) Gas prices are re-freakin-diculous! It's pretty much impossible to go anywhere, since you're paying an arm and a leg. So sad, for us poor newlyweds!
i am in charge of money to and that is why we are still in an apartment. second our stimulus check is coming in the mail too this friday it should be here. frustrating more so for you cause you have to mail it before you have it in your bank. Zarina is so cute.
