The pictures that aren't here

So I tried to upload some photos, but the file size is massive and photoshop elements evidently needs to be reinstalled on my computer (so I can then save the pictures as smaller files). That being said, the beginning of July we had some pictures taken by Amy Sorenson and I posted a few of them on Facebook today. We are happy with the results and feel free to check them out, if we're FB friends. I'll try to post some of the other pictures here soon.

I can't believe it's the beginning of August! Summer arrived quite late this year and it's a bit depressing to know that in a few weeks it will start to feel cold again. On the bright side we'll be able to stop worrying about the garden and yard so there might be time for some home improvement projects.

We had the goal to paint the kitchen, currently it has 3-4 shades (white, light grey, green, funny drywall tan, and the ceiling has a patch job from where the lighting fixtures were replaced) Brien calls it our "condemned kitchen". Did I mention that the countertop doesn't quite extend over the entire dishwasher? Our old, WHITE and blue linoleum floor is scarred and stained.

I hate white linoleum, it should come with a warning: This floor will look dirty 5 minutes after being mopped.

I'm all for options, but white linoleum should be discontinued. Maybe this was discontinued and was on clearance and that's when the landlord bough it. (From what we can gather this house has been a rental since it was built in 1955.)

I didn't mean to go off about the kitchen. (Which also houses our stackable washer/dryer.)

Where was I? Yeah, summer feels like it's already over. I will enjoy my 80 degree days and 40 degree nights for as long as they last.

Poppy starting rolling over a few weeks ago. Around the same time she also started sleeping through the night more often. I am still not getting enough sleep at night, but lucky for me Zarina likes to watch PBS kids in the morning, so that buys me some extra time to sleep in. Poppy is a pretty happy baby, who still find times to be cranky and demanding. Zarina LOVES being a big sister. She likes to tell me what Poppy needs when she cries. "Mom, I think Poppy is hungry (or tired or needs a diaper change)." A favorite nickname is Poppalicious (inspired by the Pinkalicious books). Zarina is called Zarina-rina, we aren't good at making names shorter.

Have a happy day!

Yay for a new post. I'm glad the photos uploaded to facebook. Hey, my house is about 4 years older than yours. No white linoleum, but I know what you mean about needing to update a few things.

Good luck with that kitchen. Ug. I know it will be beautiful because everything you have attacked so far is amazing. You have my sympathies. Just move and suddenly it all gets done really, really fast for someone else to enjoy. :)

I'm glad your pictures turned out. I'm sure Amy did a fabulous job. I wanna see!! I know, get on facebook.

We sure miss you guys!
