It was yucky, so I fixed it. (And snow fun).

So my last posts, a few weeks ago, were about trying to make a good orange chicken. My made up recipe did not taste good at all! It was only saved by the addition of Panda Express Orange Sauce that I had previously purchased from Costco (less than $5 for a big ol' bottle). Today is kindermusik, so maybe I'll try the crockpot365 recipe (that Melissa loves, she's how I first heard about that tasty blog). If it doesn't do it for us, I'll just have to keep buying the Panda Sauce at my beloved Costco.

We've been spending some weekend time out in the snow.

While cross-country skiing Brien tipped. Zarina was a good sport about it. On the way back to the car she wasn't nearly as happy. (Brien would try to wait up for me and Z kept saying, "Mom's okay. We go to the truck.")

We learned that when snow shoeing with the sled it wasn't very stable when blazing a trail, but it worked great for heading back down the trail.

"So Andrea, what's up with the hole in the wall and why should we care?"
Umm, you shouldn't. Our house has pretty much been a rental since it was built in 1955. We were lucky that the carport had been enclosed to make another bedroom/den. We moved in Nov. 2006 and there wasn't a garbage disposal or dishwasher. (Those items were added before we moved in). We've been wanting a back porchlight for a long while, so one day in January Brien decided that since we had the stuff he would put up the light. It was snowing, so that wasn't fun; but he bought a new drill attachment, so that made it more worthwhile. I love having a light out the back door because it can be very, very dark out there and the light makes me feel safer. (The hole will be patched over. It's not really a big deal since we need to paint the kitchen anyways.)

Brien went to Bend, Oregon for a training in January, the cute metal branch with birds and hooks was the gift he brought back for me. We had been needing a place for car keys, and couldn't find anything we both liked. I love my bird hooks!

Nice job on the porch light. Better luck next time with the chicken.
