Vocabulary

We're still working on baby signs for drink, eat, more, and all done. You can get her attention with a firm, "No." Really, it's limited communication at best. Right now the dog's comprehension skills are better. That being said, isn't it interesting that she knows when I want to take some gooey something out of her mouth. We look at each other, she chews on the something. I say, "What's in your mouth?" as I move towards her. She takes off crawling as fast as possible in the other direction. A few minutes later, when nothing is in her mouth, I move towards her and she wants to be picked up and cuddle on the couch.

Borrow the Signing time videos from the Library, or watch them on PBS, they are seriously the best!! My kids all picked up ion it by 11 months, (I haven't tried before that really) You will love them.

I never did the signing thing with my kids, mostly because I had never heard of it. (It wasn't all that popular when my kids were babies) I use it now with the little ones that I babysit, and it is so much fun when they finally "get it!" Your little girl is so cute, BTW!!!

First off, is that going to be your Christmas tree you standing in front of on the blog picture?

It looks pretty tall.

We had signing board books that I read with the girls and I would giude their hands while we read them, and guide them whenever I expected them to use the sign, until they were able to do it. I also always used them when I was saying 'all done' or 'more', etc.

I did better with Lilah than Eden, but I find that 'all done; and 'more' were the two most important signs that we used.

Jon bought a more in depth signing book when we had Eden but I never used it.

We did signing with Kaia. At first it seemed like it was a waste of time then one day she just started doing it. We started with 2 or 3 then added more once she got the hang of it. Like Lacey said, 'all done' and 'more' were really the ones she used the most. We also did 'water' which meant Kaia just slapped the side of her face because she had little fine motor skills to create a proper W but it worked.

I love the tree picture!! My goodness, who was the photographer? What talent! :) Thanks for going with us, we had a great time. Our tree has taken over our front room. I think we went a little big this year. Oh well. It's super festive, right?

Sounds like you guys had a fun Thanksgiving. I was also glad to find bargains as I feel your pain of rarely having the luxury of buying things on sale. Way to go.

Zarina looked so cute Sunday! I loved her dress.

Don't let Derek know if thats your tree. I spent $25 on a super skinny tree with holes, I like it though.
