Brien has been wanting to go on a little hike for weeks, but it didn't happen until today. We headed to a place about 20-30 miles away called Bird Creek. The main reason he chose this area was the BLM had created some bark mulch, it was free for the taking, and we need some.
This was my primary view during the 45 minute hike.
The handsome pack mule and his cute cargo.
The dog ran continually. He only stopped a couple of time to lay in the shade or on some snow. Jack definitely provided some amusement. Zarina was well behaved. She would laugh and jabber and yawn. She became fussy for about the last 10 minutes, but once she was out of her carrier she was happy again.
We both felt terribly out of shape. I'm not sure of the altitude, but it was more than our everyday 6500 feet. I'd like to think the altitude attributed to our breathlessness, but really we need to get out more.

Naked babies are so cute, and babies in diapers.
For a while Eden liked to strip down and just be in her diaper. She though it was so funny, but she's getting too big and soon, (knock on wood) will be not wearing diapers anymore.
I want a small baby again.
Looks like a nice day for a hike. I think those baby backpacks are really cool! You have a cute little family!
The picture of Z on your lap reminds me of a reflection in the water. Cute! Getting in shape for the big hike looks like fun. It looks like it was a beautiful hike!
I found your cute blog! Your hike at Bird Creek looks so fun. We like to go there. The wood chips look great in your yard. Love the sunglasses, Zarina! We'll have to go hiking sometime. Hope you don't mind my reading your blog--very cute. What a fun family--we're so glad you came to Ely!
Aren't we all! I think you should totally blame it on the altitude. I hope you had a great family outing. Doesn't it feel good to get outside and move? I love it!

Of course then we go into Ely and ride the train! You have great hiking and fun stuff all around you! Have you ever been out to McGill swimming hole? Our kids love it! I'll have to post some pics sometime on my blog.
