White Pine Middle SchoolSo it's official, I began working at the middle school library yesterday (Tuesday). Technically my title is library aide, but there is no librarian, nor will there be in the future, so I am actually the librarian. I meant to only work for four hours on day one, but I stayed seven. School doesn't start for another week, so I am able to set my own schedule and put in as much time as I need to at this point. About five hours in I felt completely overwelmed and wondered why I ever wanted this job. I was sitting there thinking, "What do I know about running a library?" This morning I went to the elementary school and picked her brain, so I feel a little more confident going to work tomorrow and trying to make something of my library. I definitely feel as though this position will challenge me and I will learn a lot from it.

It may feel a bit over whelming for a while yet, but once you get going it will work it's way out and you will feel right at home. The library is really the best job there is!
