Crazy girls

August 11th was Carolyn's bridal shower. I'm happy that I was able to go down for it; it was lots of fun.

Carolyn was blindfolded and had to put on the "clothes" that were packed in a suitcase. It may look like she is wearing red flippers, but they are actually shiny red boots that need to be laced and zipped up.

Car trouble anyone?

As my mom backed out of the garage that Saturday morning, she neglected to see my car and dented her door and back panel on my side mirror. The hope was that my dad would not notice the dent until after the wedding. There were too many other things going on to have him/my mom stress about an innocent fender bender. (For those who know my father it should come as no surprise that he has high blood pressure and we didn't want to aggravate his condition.)

Dad didn't notice the dent until he went with his brother the following Friday night (night before the wedding) to pick up my Aunt Susan from the airport. They thought someone may have hit them in the parking garage. Of course we told dad the truth and he didn't say anything more about it. Since my mom was working on the final alterations of the wedding dress he realized it would be a bad time to bring up the scratch and dent.

My mirror is the tiniest bit loose and I am missing some paint on it, that's all. I'm sure my mom feels that this helps to even out the score in regards to items that belonged to her that I damaged/destroyed throughout my childhood.

On a baby note

My belly got a name tag at the bridal shower. So far it's the only name that we have been able to come up with that we both like. Brien is extra picky because he can't have a name that bears the slightest association with someone he doesn't like, offended him during his life, or was unkind to him in any way. We haven't told the person yet that we are very likely going to name our firstborn child after her, so I won't type her name here.

I like the name (I can see it clearly when I click on the picture). And, can I just say I hope I'm as cute as you when I'm pregnant?
